
Urquhart Recalled to Springfield

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced veteran center Cory Urquhart (URK-hart) has been recalled from the Thunder to Springfield.
Urquhart is expected to suit up for Springfield today, when the Falcons visit the Portland Pirates at 1:00 p.m. PT.
Urquhart has earned his second recall to Springfield this season and is second on the Thunder with 32 points (15g-17a) in 30 games, additionally posting 24 penalty minutes this season while placing runner-up for In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week (Oct. 20). The 6-foot-3, 196-pound forward is tied for the Thunder lead with four power-play goals and was selected in the second round (40th overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Urquhart has amassed an assist in five games this year for Springfield.
The Halifax, Nova Scotia native became the fourth player in Thunder history to score a hat trick on Jan. 9 at Phoenix, an 8-2 Thunder win. Urquhart has registered 239 points (123g-116a) in 299 career games with Stockton, Cincinnati and Long Beach of the ECHL, Hamilton and Springfield of the AHL and Arizona of the Central Hockey League.
