
Coyotes Recall Winnik from San Antonio

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled left wing Daniel Winnik from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.
Winnik, 23, recorded one assist in 23 games for the Coyotes this season before being assigned to San Antonio for conditioning on Jan. 1. Winnik recorded four penalty minutes (PIM) in five games for the Rampage. Last season, Winnik registered 11-15-26 and 25 PIM in 79 games as a rookie for the Coyotes.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Winnik appeared in 66 games for San Antonio during the 2006-07 campaign, finishing with 9-12-21 and 34 PIM. He also appeared in five games with the Phoenix RoadRunners of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
A native of Toronto, Ont., Winnik played three years of collegiate hockey at the University of New Hampshire from 2003-2006, recording 37-58-95 in 119 games. Winnik was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the ninth round (265th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
