(St. Cloud, MN) Another pitcher's duel resulted in another Bats win. For the second consecutive start Andy Urban wowed the fans at Joe Faber Field. Urban carried a one hitter into the ninth inning.

Though Urban could not complete the effort, he departed to a standing ovation after 8.2 innings. The future Creighton Jay earned his fourth win of the season, thanks to a high number of ground ball outs.

Urban left with the tying run at the third and two outs in the ninth. Travis Unthank entered to preserve the lead. An epic battle ensued between Unthank and Adam Humes. After 11 pitches, Unthank finally struck out Humes to collect his ninth save of the summer.

In the first inning, the Bats opened up an early lead. Andy Henkemeyer began the bottom half with a single. Ron Sucre followed with a walk.

Kyle Stiner advanced both runners with a bunt. A Carlos Lopez grounder to first caused an error that allowed Henkemeyer and Sucre to score, giving the Bats a two run lead.

Duluth answered in the fourth. Andrew Dixon doubled. He would later cross home on a fielder's choice to cut the lead in half.

A vital insurance run scored for the Bats in inning number eight. Henkemeyer walked and stole a base. He would eventually touch the pentagon on a sacrifice fly by Lopez to boost the Bats lead back to two.

The Huskies continued to fight. They scored a run and picked up three hits to chase Urban from the game. They could not get the tying run home from third, as the Bats defeated Duluth for a fourth straight time.

This weekend the Bats will host the Rochester Honkers in a pair of double headers. Saturday's two pack promises to bring excitement to the ballpark. The Nerd will entertain fans at Joe Faber Field. A foam finger also awaits the first 500 fans at Saturday's games.
