WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Football Club today announced that significant progress has been made over the last several weeks with regard to the selection of a new President and C.E.O., Vice President and General Manager Football Operations and Head Coach.

Shortly before Christmas the Board of Directors retained the services of Mr. Ernest Warkentin, one of Canada's leading senior executive search consultants and President of Winnipeg based Ernst David International Inc. to assist the Board in these selections. The Board is very aware and conscious of the high level of urgency and priority being demanded, and is well along in the process, in terms of finalizing selections for these positions with the assistance of Mr. Warkentin. The Board has received numerous expressions of interest and applications from many high calibre individuals, and is currently in the process of reviewing and evaluating these candidates, and expects to make decisions on some of these positions within the next few weeks, and others within a month or so thereafter. The club appreciates and recognizes the highly confidential and competitive nature of this selection process, and to protect the integrity of this process and the confidentiality of these highly qualified candidates, the club will not be making any further comment on the selection process or candidates until such time as there are decisions to share with our fans, the media and the public.

The Winnipeg Football Club continues to move ahead with other plans for the 2010 season with player signings as appropriate and plans for an exciting 2010 season on the field and in the ballpark. Many new initiatives are being planned to enhance the club's activities. The club is pleased the fans have shown confidence in the team by renewing their season tickets in numbers that to date exceed last year.

The Winnipeg Football Club thanks their fans, media and sponsors for their continued support moving forward.
