Upcoming Home Games for Westerners
July 1, 2013 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Danbury Westerners News Release
The Westerners play six games this week, with four of them under the lights at Rogers Park. After an off-day on Monday, the Westerners travel to North Adams MA on Tuesday to face their division rival SteepleCats. The Westerners then return home on Wednesday to host the expansion Ocean State Waves for their only visit to Danbury. That evening is "Bark in the Park" night, where we encourage our four-legged fans to visit the ballpark.
On Independence Day the Westerners travel to Holyoke MA to face the BlueSox, with a special 5:00PM start time. The Westerners then return home on Friday to begin a six game homestand. The homestand begins with our annual Parents Weekend, and on Friday the Westerners will face the Saratoga Brigade. That evening the Westerners will recognize and thank the host families who have opened up their homes to the team. On Saturday the Vermont Mountaineers make their first appearance in Rogers Park, and the Westerners are thrilled to honor Danbury's Volunteer Firefighters.
The homestand continues on Sunday, where the Danbury Westerners host Team Canada in an exhibition game. Canada's Junior National Team is made up of some of the best talent the country has to offer and is touring through New England in preparation for the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) World Cup August 30th-September 8th in Taichung, Taiwan.
