Philadelphia Union II News Release
Union II are in first place in the Eastern Conference and are ranked third overall in the MLS NEXT Pro Power Rankings.
Union II remain unbeaten in their first two matches of the season.
In their previous meeting in Chicago, Union II defeated Chicago Fire FC II 2-1 on April 16, 2023. Midfielder David Vazquez scored the game-winning goal, marking his first professional goal and the league's 1,000th regular-season goal in MLS NEXT Pro history.
Union II hold a 1-2-1 overall record against Chicago Fire FC II.
Forward Sal Olivas netted his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal while Academy midfielder Cavan Sullivan registered his first MLS NEXT Pro assist on his debut.
Goalkeeper Mike Sheridan registered three saves on his MLS NEXT Pro debut.
Six players made their MLS NEXT Pro debuts against New England: Mike Sheridan, Gavin Wetzel, Cavan Sullivan, Kellan LeBlanc, Diego Rocio, and Jamir Johnson.
Midfielder David Vazquez and defender Neil Pierre both made appearances for the U.S. Under-19 Men's National Team.
Both players made a substitute appearance against England and started in the match against Morocco.
