Lone Star Brahmas News Release
ODESSA, TX - Despite striking first, the Brahmas allowed the Jackalopes to score four in a row and pick up a 4-1 win on Saturday night in front of their home crowd.
Tomas Brejcha kicked off the scoring just over six minutes in when he recovered his own rebound in the low circle and beat Jon Flakne to the glove-side in his Jackalopes debut. The lead would last all of 33 seconds and at that mark Ryan MacKellar was able to beat Corbin Kaczperski from a similar location to even the score up at one.
The second period was not as kind to the Brahmas as they went 0-5 on the power play and allowed three goals courtesty of Derek Brown, Hampus Sjodahl, and Zach Zech.
Regulation wrapped up without any additional scoring and the Jacks polished off the 4-1 victory.
Corbin Kaczperski suffers his sixth regulation loss of his season in the effort, only stopping 11 of 15.
The team will now return to North Richland Hills where they will rest and regroup prior to taking on the Corpus Christi IceRays on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available for those games atop your screen under TICKETS, by calling 817-336-4ICE, or by coming by the NYTEX Sports Centre box office.
