Sioux Falls Storm News Release

United Indoor Football (UIF) announced the 2008 Eastern and Western Conference All-Stars on Tuesday. The teams will be made up of 25 players each and they will participate in the UIF's Second All-Star Classic on July 19 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City. Players were voted on by team Coaches, General Managers, broadcasters, and local newspaper beat writers.

Seven Storm players were recognized as All-Stars including Mark Blackburn who has been named an All-Star each of the four seasons the UIF has been in existence. Blackburn joins offensive lineman Dan Potmesil of Omaha as the only players to be recognized for the fourth time.

The Storm also had four players named All-Stars for the first time as running back Sean Treasure, kick returner Bryan Alberty, wide receiver James Terry, and defensive lineman Cory Johnsen will suit up for the Western Conference.

Paul Keizer was named to the All-Star team for the second time. He has been recognized as one of the league's best offensive lineman in each of his two seasons in a Storm uniform. Shannon Poppinga also made his return to the UIF All-Star team. Poppinga was also recognized in 2005.

The Eastern Conference-leading Bloomington Extreme led the way with 10 All-Star selections. Three teams have seven All-Stars: the Omaha Beef, the host Sioux City Bandits and the Western Conference-leading Sioux Falls Storm. Rounding out the rest of the league, the Billings Outlaws have six, the Colorado Ice five and both the RiverCity Rage and the Wichita Wild each have four players honored.
