U.S. Nat'l Under-18 Team Cruises to 6-2 Win Over Texas

FRISCO, Texas - The U.S. National Under-18 Team skated to a 6-2 victory against the Texas Tornado in North American Hockey League action here Friday night. Goaltender Brandon Maxwell (Winter Park, Fla.) stopped 16 shots in the win for Team USA.

"We played well as a team tonight, and that was a key part of our success," said John Hynes, head coach of the U.S. National Under-18 Team. "Now we have to re-focus for tomorrow night's game so we can finish this road trip on a high note."

Jeremy Morin (Auburn, N.Y.) led the U.S. National Under-18 Team with two goals and an assist. Jordan Schroeder (Prior Lake, Minn.) chipped in a goal and an assist, including a shorthanded marker. Ryan Hegarty (Arlington, Mass.), Ryan Bourque (Boxford, Mass.) and Danny Kristo (Eden Prairie, Minn.) also tallied goals for Team USA. Bourque's goal came on the power play.

Team USA went 1-for-1 with a man advantage, while Texas was 1-for-5 on the power play.

The U.S. National Under-18 Team (24-20-2-4) meets the Texas Tornado at the Dr Pepper StarCenter tomorrow night at 7 p.m. CDT.
