FC Cincinnati News Release
Tyrone Marshall, Head Coach of FC Cincinnati 2, recently returned to Cincinnati from Paris, France after finishing the initial steps of the Elite Formation Coaching Licensing program. Marshall is one of 25 coaches within the MLS ecosystem participating in the program in partnership with the French Football Federation (FFF).
As part of the ongoing program, Marshall recently completed a number of practical coaching sessions and participated in a weeklong club observation session to gain knowledge and insight into some of the world's best academy and player development systems.
Marshall spent his one-week observation session with partner club and founding member of the Common Value Club Alliance, TSG Hoffenheim, a partnership that began during the 2020-21 season. The club observation granted Marshall a unique insight into the inner workings of the German Bundesliga side.
"We were able to gain very valuable insights into the day-to-day work, from the club's overarching data-driven philosophy, to the training concept and its implementation on the pitch or in the Footbonaut and the Helix," said Marshall on his visit with Hoffenheim. "The week at TSG was great fun and broadened my horizons enormously. The whole staff welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of the TSG family."
Marshall's first match back with FC Cincinnati 2 came in a 2-0 preseason win against Xavier University as the team prepares for the upcoming MLS NEXT Pro season.
