Harrisburg Heat News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 25, 2014 - The Harrisburg Heat and ironman midfielder Tyler Witmer have agreed to contract terms for the 2014-15 season, the Major Arena Soccer League team announced today.

Terms of the deal were not released. Witmer is the second player to agree to terms with the Heat,

following last week's return of forward Chris Hall.

Witmer, 24, was the Heat's third-leading scorer last season behind only forwards Tom Mellor and

Kenneth Fultz, totaling 20 points in 16 games on 13 goals and seven assists.

Witmer, a third-year pro from Conrad Weiser High School by way of Temple University, also led the Heat last season with four power-play goals and two short-handed goals.

Since the Heat returned to pro indoor soccer in 2012, Witmer is the only player to appear in all 32 of the team's games. His 11 career power-play goals and two short-handed goals are modern franchise records. His 50 career points and 33 goals are second only to Mellor over the last two seasons.
