June 3, 2014 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Richmond Raiders News Release
Richmond Raiders defensive lineman Devin Jones was named the PIFL Zoombang Defensive Player of the Week, and kicker T.C. Stevens earned Vidswap.com Special Teams Player of the Week, after the team's 72-53 win over the Georgia Fire on Sunday. Jones was a destructive force in the Georgia backfield, registering 3.5 sacks and an additional 3.5 tackles for loss.
Stevens was perfect on all nine of his extra points, made two field goals, and added three unos.
It's the first Player of the Week honor for Jones, who leads the league in sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (14.0), having notched 1.5 more in each category than the second place player.
He set personal season highs in both departments against the Fire, and led a Raiders defense that set team season highs in sacks (6), tackles for loss (8), and allowed a season low 13 rushing yards.
Online at zoombang.com, ZB Products, LP is today the leader in the use of polymers integrated with garments for the protection of star athletes in virtually every professional sport.
Stevens earns his first weekly award this season, and league leading seventh overall. It was his first multi-uno game of the year and the second time in his career that he's made at least nine extra points. His 18 points scored kicking against Georgia are a personal best and the highest total in the PIFL this year. He is now alone in first place in the league in field goals made and tied for first in field goal percentage, and his 62 points kicking is one shy of the league lead.
