PIFL Names Week 10 Players of the Week
June 3, 2014 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) News Release
NASHVILLE, TN (June 3, 2014) - The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) announces that Nashville Venom QB Charles McCullum, Richmond Raiders DL Devin Jones, and Richmond Raiders K T.C. Stevens are the Week 10 Players of the Week.
Since becoming the starter, QB Charles McCullum and the Venom have been snake charmers of late winning three straight and now own a share of the PIFL's best record (6-2) with Trenton. In the Battle in the Valley, Nashville completed the regular-season sweep of the defending champion Hammers behind McCullum's seven touchdown throws as well as his league high 337 passing yards for the week. For his efforts the Nashville signal-caller earned the Week 10 Offensive Player of the Week and now with a comfortable two-game lead on the division the Venom set to exact some revenge Next Saturday when they face-off against a Fire squad that has been their lone Achilles heel on the season.
One team that has gone from rags to riches in a matter of weeks has been the upstart Richmond Raiders (3-5) who after their 72-53 win over the Georgia Fire on Sunday, now find themselves only one game behind in the PIFL's National Conference second place Steelhawks (4-4). One constant for the Raiders all season has been the play of their defensive front, a front that picked up five sacks including 3.5 alone by DL Devin Jones the Week 10 Zoombang Defensive Player of the Week. Jones is also currently the league's top sack artist with 10.5 overall and could possibly be in line for another stellar performance against Lehigh Valley, a team that has allowed a PIFL-high 26 sacks.

Much like the start to their 2014 regular-season, it has equally been a rough go at it for Richmond kicker T.C. Stevens. A one-time Special Teams Player of the Year as well as a six-time recipient of the PIFL's weekly honor, Stevens had yet to earn a nod this season. After his 18 point performance in Sunday's win over the Fire that distinction no longer exists. En route to his league-leading 18 points for the week, T.C. went a perfect 9 for 9 on PAT attempts, 2 of 3 on field goal attempts (23, 18) as well as almost doubling his season total of four Uno's with three guiding him to the Week 10 Vidswap.com Special Teams Player of the Week.
