Miami Morays News Release

The Miami Morays and team owner Oronde Gadsden are pleased to announce the addition of Terry Kirby as the strength and conditioning coach and Leslie Shepherd as the Receivers coach. Kirby and Shepherd join Jamie Nails and Hall of Famer Larry Little as members of the coaching staff with NFL playing experience.

Terry Kirby was a third-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins in 1993 and played in the NFL for 11 seasons, spending time with the Dolphins, 49ers, Raiders, Buccaneers, and Browns. Appearing in 110 games, Kirby rushed for 2,875 yards and 27 touchdowns and was a receiving threat out of the back-field, grabbing 333 receptions for 3,222 yards and 12 more scores. Kirby still holds the rookie receiving record with the Dolphins with 75 catches for 874 yards.

"I think this a great opportunity for the Morays and myself. I've played in the NFL and I have been around the game for a long time," Kirby said. "Oronde is putting together a great staff here and I am excited to help out."

Heading up the Morays receiver corps will be Leslie Shepherd. Breaking into the NFL with the Washington Redskins, Shepherd went on to play a total of seven seasons in the NFL. Shepherd spent five seasons with the Redskins and one season each with the Browns and Dolphins before signing a ceremonial contract with the Redskins before retiring in 2002. For his career, Shepherd caught 183 receptions for 2,832 yards and 22 touchdowns.

"I am excited first and foremost to work with some of our young talent. Some of these guys are just starting their career and some guys want to further their career, so I am really eager to teach them things that I learned from my time in college and in the NFL," Shepherd said. "Miami is known for the high level of talent, and I am looking forward to helping the Morays receivers get some recognition for their skills."

The Miami Morays will play in the National Indoor Football League, entering its fifth season with 21 teams located across the United States. The NIFL provides players with an opportunity to develop their skills and continue their careers in professional football.

The Morays 14 game schedule kicks off in March with seven home games at the Miami Arena. For additional information about the Miami Morays, please call Mark Fischel at 305-349-4466 or visit us at www.miamimoraysfootball.com.
