JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Mobile BayBears had just two hits Monday afternoon, falling to Jacksonville 4-1. Both hits came off the bat of first baseman Michael Johnson. Joel Hanrahan threw six shutout innings for the win, and lefty Ben Kozlowski pitched the final three innings for his first save with Jacksonville. Mobile?s John Hudgins suffered his first loss, after allowing three of the four runs in five innings.
The BayBears have now lost five straight games, and all four thus far in the series against the Suns. Mobile Manager Gary Jones still has 999 career wins. The losses ended a stretch in which the BayBears had won three consecutive series. Mobile hasn?t been swept in 2006, but will be if Jacksonville is victorious Tuesday.
Jose Oyervidez (2-5) will pitch for Mobile against Jacksonville?s Spike Lundberg (6-1) Tuesday night. All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 18, and on the internet via mobilebaybears.com.
