(Jackson, TN) June 5th- Chicago Cubs RHP Mark Prior will make a rehab start with the Double-A West Tenn Diamond Jaxx at Pringles Park on Thursday night, June 8th at 7:05 CDT. He will be pitching against the Birmingham Barons, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Prior has yet to pitch for the Cubs this season because of a right subscapularis strain.
Prior was the Cubs first round pick in the June 2001 draft. He began his professional career with the Diamond Jaxx. In six starts with West Tenn, Prior compiled a 4-1 record with a 2.60 ERA before being promoted to Triple-A Iowa. He went on to make nineteen starts with the Cubs in 2002, going 6-6 with a 3.32 ERA. Prior's major league career record is 41-23 with a 3.24 ERA.
Tickets are still available for Thursday's game. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance to avoid any delay in seeing the action. Tickets can be ordered over the phone or purchased directly from the Diamond Jaxx/Pringles Park box office. The Diamond Jaxx/Pringles Park box office will be open now through Thursday at 8 a.m. The box office will remain open until thirty minutes after the last pitch of our regularly scheduled games this week.
The Diamond Jaxx will continue their current homestand against the Tennessee Smokies and Birmingham Barons with games from now through Saturday beginning at 7:05 p.m. The final game of the homestand on Sunday, June 11th will be played at 1:05 p.m.
