Two defensemen added to Grrrowl signee list

GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that two defensemen have signed contracts for the 2004-05 season. PAUL ESDALE and RANDY DAGENAIS have agreed to terms of the ECHL Standard Player Contract.
PAUL ESDALE (5-10, 175lbs, defense, Edmonton, ALTA) spent last season with the Florida Everblades, playing in 63 games and recording 16 points (5G, 11A), as well as 56 penalty minutes. Florida finished the 2003-04 as runners-up in the Kelly Cup Finals, dropping the series to the Idaho Steelheads. Esdale will be entering his second professional season after spending four solid years at Brown University.
RANDY DAGENAIS (6-0, 200lbs., defense, Valrita, ONT) returns to Greenville for his second season after playing in 67 games with Gwinnett and Greenville during his rookie year. Randy totaled 18 points (5G, 13A) and gathered 48 PIM in 62 games with the Grrrowl.
The current list of signed players for the 2004-05 season include 10 players: Forwards â Mark Concannon, Troy Ilijow, Richard Naumann, Mike Nelson, Colin Pepperall, Russell Spence; Defense â Randy Dagenais, Paul Esdale, Jason Metcalfe, Daryl Pierce.
The Grrrowl will open the 2004-05 schedule with a home game on Friday, October 22, 2004 against the Charlotte Checkers. Season tickets (starting at $238), mini-plans and flex packs are available now by contacting the Grrrowl office. Please call 467-4777 for additional ticket information.
