
Two Dans with Local Ties Named to All-Star Roster

DANVILLE, IL - The Danville Dans with local connections will be part of the West Division roster in the 2012 Prospect League's annual Mid-Season All-Star Game. This year's game will be hosted by the Springfield Sliders on Wednesday July 11.
Oakwood's Casey Fletcher (Kankakee Community College) and Parkland College's Wes Minton will represent Danville in the game.
"We're very proud of the accomplishments of our Dans selected for the Prospect League All-Star game," said Dans managing partner Jeanie Cooke.
Fletcher began the year as a temporary player, and earned his full-time position when an open spot on the roster became available. He leads the team with 19 RBIs and 17 walks. He's third on the team with 29 hits and is batting .290.
Minton is one of eight Dans on the original roster that was with the team opening day. He's hitting .286 and leads the team with 11 extra-base hits. He's tied for team-high with 30 hits, is second in runs scored with 19, and third in RBI's (15) and walks (14)
In their 25th year, the Danville Dans are affiliated with the Prospect League (formerly the Central Illinois Collegiate League - CICL) summer wood bat collegiate baseball league.
