Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, Ind. - Tonight's scheduled game between Valparaiso University and Purdue at U. S. Steel Yard has been cancelled by persistent rainfall in Northwest Indiana. In addition, Wednesday's scheduled doubleheader between IU-Northwest and Calumet College has been postponed and will now be played Friday, May 8 at 11 a.m.
Fans with tickets to tonight's game can use them to attend Valpo's Tuesday, May 5 game against Northwestern at U. S. Steel Yard, or the Tuesday, May 12 exhibition game between the Crusaders and RailCats. As of this time, tonight's game has not been re-scheduled.
IU-Northwest and Calumet College have been pushed back because the Crimson Wave's scheduled conference games today have been rained out and must be made up Wednesday. The RedHawks will play seven times at U. S. Steel Yard this spring, including this Sunday at noon against St. Catherine's.
The RailCats will host 33 high school and college games at U. S. Steel Yard this spring before opening the 2009 season Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. against Joliet. Single-game tickets are on sale now by calling 219.882.2255 or visiting www.railcatsbaseball.com.
