Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI - When Corpus Christi Hooks individual game tickets for 2009 go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m., fans will be armed with information about an exciting menu of giveaway items.
Tickets are available at the Whataburger Field box office and by calling 361-561-HOOK. Much of the attention will be focused on the historic Astros exhibition game April 2. Hooks magnet schedules to all patrons from CPL Energy get the ball rolling that evening before a 6:05 start.
Twenty-six other giveaways take Hooks fans all the way to Monday, Sept. 7, the final night of the regular season.
"Providing affordable family entertainment has always been our philosophy," Hooks president Ken Schrom said. "Once again, our family of sponsors has stepped up to the plate with a great promotional calendar.
"We're proud of the quality premiums our fans have enjoyed through the years. The sponsors make that possible and we are grateful."
Five replica jerseys provided by CITGO are must-have collectibles. The set includes a Hooks home top (Opening Day/Thursday, April 9), camouflage (Saturday, May 16), alternate (Saturday, July 13), retro (Wednesday, July 29) and road (Saturday, Sept. 5). Cap nights are Saturday, April 25 (home by Christus Spohn), Wednesday, June 10 (road by Coastal Bend Chevy Dealers) and Wednesday, August 12 (camouflage by C&J Energy Services).
Two Nolan Ryan-related pieces in celebration of the 10th anniversary of his Hall of Fame induction will be distributed: bobbleheads on Saturday, July 18 by Wigington Rumley Dunn and plaques a week later by Whataburger.
In all, there are seven giveaways geared for children.
"We enjoy providing great added value to Hooks fans of all ages," Schrom added. "Our staff is looking forward to an exciting 2009 campaign."
