Turner to ECHL Orlando

SOUTHAVEN, Miss - The Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that the recently acquired Michael Turner is headed to the ECHL Orlando Solar Bears.

Turner, 21, was acquired from the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs by Knoxville before joining the RiverKings this week. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward played 25 games for Roanoke this season and earned 12 points (6G, 6A). The Oak Park, Illinois native also spent time this season with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabits where he scored a goal and three assists in 19 games.

Turner joins a pair of RiverKings, Cullen Bradshaw and Mike Moran, in the ECHL. Bradshaw, loaned on February 10, has tallied six assists in six games for the ECHL Adirondack Thunder since his call-up. Moran, loaned on February 13, has only played two games with the ECHL Wichita Thunder.

The RiverKings return to the Landers Center for a home stand this Friday for Faith and Family Night night against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the RiverKings take on Roanoke for a second time for Pink in the Rink Night, where the RiverKings will wear special pink jerseys to honor women's cancer.
