Turansky to Play for Miami University

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS - Brahmas forward Artur Turansky has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Miami University, the player announced Thursday.

"I am proud to announce my commitment to play D1 college hockey at Miami University," said Turansky, regarding his commitment. "Thanks to my family, friends, and coaches that have helped me along the way."

In 23 games played for Lone Star, the forward tallied 25 points (10g-15a) and recorded 1.09 points per game average. His offensive power lands him second on the Brahmas roster in points, goals and assists. A mainstay on the power play unit, seven (3g-4a) of his 25 points were notched on special teams. The Bratislava, Slovakia native was also named the NAHL South Division Star of the Week, November 8-14, 2021 after gaining four points in two wins against the Shreveport Mudbugs.

"This is an exciting day for Artur and his family," said assistant coach of the Brahmas, Ryan Anderson. "Turo has been an instrumental piece of our team this season. He has a proven ability to score and create chances for his linemates. The Brahmas look forward to watching him join the former Brahmas that are already attending Miami."

Turansky is the fourth player in Brahmas history to skate for Miami University, with alumni including Thomas Daskas, Ludvig Persson, Chase Pletzke and Alex Murray. The program plays in the Mid-American Conference.

Artur Turansky is the second NCAA commitment from the Brahmas current roster, with goalie Jan Skorpik committing to Long Island University earlier this season. In the 2020-21 season, the Lone Star Brahmas was one of the top teams in the NAHL for college advancement with 20 commitments.
