Tulsa Oilers News Release
After going 2-1 to start the season, the Tulsa Oilers get a few days off before hosting one of the most interesting teams on their schedule.
The Fort Worth Brahmas will be in town Friday night bringing the first NHL player signed by a Central Hockey League team in Brad Lukowich, and former Oilers Jorin Welsh and Nick Udovicic.
After 2 games, Lukowich, a defenseman, is -1 with a goal. His most impressive stat though are his two Stanley Cups, including playing on last season's champs the Tampa Bay Lightning.
As a member of the Oilers, Welsh, also a defenseman, averaged 36 points a season. 2000-01 was his best year with 50 points (20g, 30a.) Udovicic is on his third CHL team after spending time in Corpus and Tulsa last season. In 14 games as an Oilers center Udovicic scored one goal and had two assists.
After their Friday night game, the Oilers hit the road and take on the Amarillo Gorillas. Amarillo is 1-1 so far, Tulsa will travel to their arena twice this season for their only two games against the Gorillas.
All away games can be heard on 100.3 FM, The Cross. This Saturday, face off is 7:11 pm.
