Tulsa's Gary Steffes Leads Oakley Three Stars for October

GLENDALE, AZ (November 5, 2012) - Tulsa Oilers forward Gary Steffes, Arizona Sundogs forward Chad Nehring and Rapid City Rush forward Jordan Baker have been named the "˜Oakley Three Stars "˜ for the month of October/2011.

Players are awarded five points for being a game's first star, three points for being named the second star and a single point for being named the third star of the game. Keep up with the season-long standings and quest to be the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year HERE.

First Star - Gary Steffes, F, Tulsa Oilers

Steffes earned 15 points during the season's opening month by being named the first star of the game three times in his club's six games. Steffes had four goals and four assists and scored the Oilers game winning goal in their 4-1 win over Quad City on October 27. The Grand Blanc, Michigan native had points in five of his team's six games helping Tulsa to a 3-2-1 record in October.

Second Star - Chad Nehring, F, Arizona Sundogs

Nehring finished October with 11 points thanks to two first star honors and one third star recognition. The Springsdale, Saskatchewan native earned first star honors in back-to-back games because he scored the game winning goal in a 3-2 win over Missouri on October 26 and then followed that up with two goals and an assist in an overtime loss to the Mavericks. Nehring leads the Sundogs with seven points (4-3=7) this season.

Third Star - Jordan Baker, F, Rapid City Rush

Baker scored four goals with three assists in his team's four games in October being named first star in half of those contests. The rookie from Chestermere, Alberta had two goals and two assists in an opening night win in Bloomington and then scored the game winning goal in a two-goal effort over Denver on October 26. Baker is second among all first-year players in scoring with eight points (4-4=8).
