Tulsa's Chris Richard Signs With Oklahoma City Thunder

NEW YORK, March 3, 2010 - The Chicago Bulls today signed center/forward Chris Richard of the Tulsa 66ers making him the 18th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2009-10 NBA D-League season. Richard joins 76 current NBA players with NBA D-League experience.

The 6-8 Richard has appeared in 12 games with the 66ers this season, averaging 8.9 points and 8.1 rebounds in 29.2 minutes. He notched three double-doubles and scored in double figures on six occasions, including a season-high 16 points to go with 11 rebounds in a 111-87 win over the Iowa Energy on Jan. 29. A two-year member of the 66ers, Richard played 20 games in Tulsa last season, when he averaged 12.0 points and 8.2 rebounds in 30.7 minutes.

Richard re-joins the Bulls following a GATORADE Call-Up on Feb. 5. This season with Chicago, Richard averaged 2.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 14.4 minutes in five games. In 59 career NBA games with Chicago and Minnesota, Richard averaged 1.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 11.0 minutes.

Selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft (41st overall), Richard was assigned to the NBA D-League's Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Timberwolves NBA D-League affiliate during his rookie campaign. In six games for Sioux Falls, Richard averaged 10.2 points and 11.5 rebounds.

A four-year contributor at the University of Florida, Richard finished his career averaging 4.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 141 NCAA games. During his final NCAA season, Richards averaged 6.2 points and 3.7 rebounds and was named 2007 SEC Sixth Man of the Year. Richards is the winningest player in Florida history, having been a part of 112 victories, three SEC Tournament titles, an SEC East title, an SEC regular season title and two national titles in his four years in Gainesville.
