Tulsa Secures Wire-To-Wire Win

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders could not overcome an early four-run deficit to the Tulsa Drillers and lost 10-4 on Saturday at Riders Field.

Tulsa (17-27, 58-55) put up four runs in the first inning with two hits and four walks. With the victory, Tulsa won the series over Frisco (23-21, 54-58) with one game remaining.

Jax Biggers homered in the ninth inning, his ninth long ball of the year and a solo shot.

Down 4-0 after the first inning, the Riders cut the margin in half in the second inning. Aaron Zavala started a two-out rally with a double, his first of two hits on the day. Keyber Rodriguez, David Garcia and Chris Seise all singled consecutively, the latter two for RBIs. Seise added a double later in the game.

Kellen Strahm tripled in the sixth inning and scored on Liam Hicks' sacrifice fly. Hicks later walked to extend his streak of reaching base in all 30 home games this year.

Ryan Garcia (3-9) lasted 0.2 innings in his start, charged with three earned runs and the loss.

Robby Ahlstrom pitched the next 2.1 innings without a run and struck out the side in order in his final inning. Danny Duffy covered the next two innings without a run allowed. Triston Polley chipped in a scoreless ninth inning.

Orlando Ortiz-Mayr (2-4) was the winning pitcher, dealing 5.1 innings for Tulsa with three earned runs.

The last game of the series is Sunday at 6:05 p.m. at Riders Field. Frisco's starting pitcher has not yet been announced. Tulsa will send out RHP Nick Frasso (3-4, 4.00 ERA).
