Tulsa 66ers News Release

TULSA, Okla., Nov. 23, 2011 - The Tulsa 66ers, proud affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, will tip off the 2011-12 NBA D-League season this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26, with back-to-back road games against the Idaho Stampede. Both games are scheduled to tip at 8 p.m. CST inside CenturyLink Arena.

The weekend games can be viewed online for free via webcast at nba.com/futurecast and can be heard in Tulsa on KAKC 1300 AM.

The 66ers are led by third-year head coach Nate Tibbetts. Tulsa is coming off of a franchise-best 33-17 regular season record during the 2010-11 season.

"This is a brand new year with a lot of new faces on our roster," Tibbetts said. "We have had a tough, competitive training camp and we look forward to getting the D-League season underway this weekend. As always, these games will provide more opportunities for our guys to play together and improve."

Tulsa returns four players from last season's roster, including guard Jerome Dyson, forwards Marcus Lewis, Ryan Reid and Billy Rush. Also on the opening weekend roster are 2011 NBA D-League Draft picks forward Curtis Sumpter (11th pick), guard Dwight Buycks (22nd pick), guard Brady Morningstar (34th pick), center Brian Barkdoll (86th pick) and guard Xavier Alexander (118th pick). Completing the roster is 2011 local tryout player Ben Colon (forward).

This weekend's contests will mark the first of 16 back-to-back sets for the 66ers this season.

Last season, the 66ers and Stampede split a two-game series, both played in Idaho.

Tulsa's home opener is scheduled for Dec. 3 against the Austin Toros at 7 p.m. inside the Tulsa Convention Center.
