Port Charlotte, FL - A three-run homer from DH Sebastian Elizalde and a stellar start from RHP Jake Paulson (W, 1-0) prolonged the Daytona Tortugas' season for at least one more day. Facing elimination in Game 3 of the Florida State League Championship Series, Daytona's offense came to life in a 6-1 win over the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Saturday night at Charlotte Sports Park.

Called up from Class-A Dayton prior to the playoffs, Paulson allowed just two singles and two walks in seven phenomenal innings. Braxton Lee broke up a no-hit bid with one-out base knock in the sixth, and Paulson finished the day with four strikeouts.

Elizalde broke a scoreless tie with a three-run blast in the sixth inning, plating DH Ty Washington (1B) and LF Brian O'Grady (BB) to give Daytona a 3-0 lead. Elizalde struck again with an RBI triple in the ninth, and finished a double shy of the cycle. 3B Taylor Sparks doubled down the third base line to bring home Elizalde, and SS Blake Trahan hit an RBI single to left to extend the advantage to 6-0.

Charlotte rallied for a run in the bottom of the ninth before RHP El'Hajj Muhammad struck out Pat Blair to end the ballgame.

Trahan and Elizalde collected multiple hits as the Tortugas broke out of a team-wide offensive slump. Daytona had scored just one total run in the first two games of the series; it came on a sacrifice fly from 1B Daniel Pigott on Friday.

The Tortugas still trail the best-of-5 series 2-1, but they will send FSL Pitcher of the Year LHP Amir Garrett to the mound for Game 4 on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET, and Garrett will oppose Brent Honeywell, who held the Palm Beach Cardinals to one run in seven innings in his first playoff start.
