
'Tugas Keep Homestand Rolling Through Mother's Day Weekend

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daytona Tortugas wrap up six-game homestand on Mother's Day Weekend, as the team welcomes the Lakeland Flying Tigers, High-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, to town on Thursday, May 9. Among the highlights is Teacher Appreciation Night, special "Vote for Shelldon" uniforms, and postgame fireworks on Friday and Saturday.
The series gets underway on May 9 with a Thirsty Thursday presented by Bud Light. Fans are encouraged to come out and be a part of the biggest party in Central Florida, as draft beers and fountain sodas can be purchased for just $1 all evening long. First pitch for the series' opener is slated for 7:05 p.m.
We pay tribute to the great educators of Volusia County with our Teacher Appreciation Night on Friday, May 10. All teachers can purchase $5 general admission tickets for the contest. The fun continues with our Best Dressed Friday series. Tortugas' players and coaches will don special "Vote for Shelldon" uniforms in honor of the 15th anniversary of cult-classic comedy "Napoleon Dynamite". The unique jerseys will be auctioned off online throughout the weekend. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as we host our Friday Night Happy Hour presented by Kona Brewing. Patrons can enjoy buy-one, get-one Kona beer products and Bud Light from 5:30 p.m. until first pitch. Following the final out, those in attendance will be treated to another marvelous Postgame Fireworks display. That night's affair is scheduled to get underway at 7:05 p.m.
The series wraps up with a Shell-tastic Saturday on May 11. The Tortugas' will have special events and activities around the Jackie Robinson Ballpark prior to the ballgame. Like all Saturday night home games, fans will be treated to a stupendous Postgame Fireworks display following the contest's conclusion. The series finale is registered to begin at 7:05 p.m.
