Wilmington, DE (June 12, 2012) - With steady rain falling throughout the afternoon and an ominous forecast on tap for the rest of the night, Tuesday's contest between the Red Sox and Blue Rocks has been postponed. Salem and Wilmington will wrap up their three-game series with a twin-bill on Wednesday at Frawley Stadium, featuring two seven-inning games that will commence at 5:05.

Wednesday's doubleheader will be Salem's fifth since Wednesday, May 30, when the Sox swept the Hillcats in Lynchburg. Salem also played two against Myrtle Beach on Saturday, June 2 and had doubleheaders this past Friday and Saturday in Potomac.

With six games remaining in the first-half playoff chase, the Sox trail the first-place Dash by three games in the Carolina League Southern Division. Winston's magic number sits at four heading into Tuesday night.

The Salem Sox return to LewisGale Field on Thursday to wrap up the first half with a four game series against the Carolina Mudcats.
