
Tucson Sugar Skulls Add Three More Players

TUCSON, ARIZONA - The Tucson Sugar Skulls have added players on both sides of the ball signing a running back, a defensive back and a linebacker.
Entering the franchise's first season, the Sugar Skulls now have 14 players signed. The team plans to enter camp in February with up to 40 players. During the season, 25 players will be on the roster with 21 active for each game. The 14-game season begins the first weekend in March.
The newest signees are:
Kenny James, defensive back, 5'11", 205 pounds. Played two years at Southern Illinois University where he appeared in 22 games and recorded 153 tackles. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns. Transferred to Division II Ferris State University for his final year where he was fifth on the team with 59 total tackles and two interceptions. Was honorable mention all-league.
Mike Jones, running back, 5'11", 210 pounds. In a five-year career at Bethune-Cookman University, which included on redshirt year, he rushed for 1,842 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. Led the team in rushing in sophomore and senior seasons.
Darius Morris, linebacker, 6'0", 227 pounds. Played two years at Mesa Community College and one year at Division II Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. At Carson-Newman he appeared in eight games with 23 tackles and had one tackle for loss.

The Tucson Sugar Skulls are in their first year of operation as an expansion franchise of the Indoor Football League. The team will begin its inaugural season in March with home games at the Tucson Arena.
