Greenville Triumph SC News Release
Greenville, SC - This season, the Greenville Triumph is showing support for the American Cancer Society through multiple campaign efforts including ACS's "Real Men Wear Pink" campaign and the ACS's national "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign."
The American Cancer Society's "Real Men Wear Pink" campaign will help raise awareness and funds by showcasing a group of men wearing the color pink throughout the month of October. Triumph head coach and sporting director John Harkes is a part of this year's group as he aims to raise a minimum of $2,500.
Additionally, the American Cancer Society started "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walks to unite communities in the fight against this deadly disease. These walks help the ACS to fund groundbreaking research and provide patients with monetary assistance including places to stay during chemotherapy treatments and a live 24/7 cancer helpline. ACS has partnered with businesses around the Upstate to make this year's virtual walks engaging and interactive. The ACS encourages all registered teams and walkers to stop by the "Virtual Walk Shops" in person or via their websites between now and October 31st. To be entered for a chance to win "Making Strides" swag, individuals can take pictures of themselves at each spot and post to social media using the hashtag #VirtualStridesGVL.
The Greenville Triumph is participating in the "Virtual Walk Shops" by way of our logo displayed on the pink-framed Bramlett Street sign. GTSC will be providing one lucky fan with a Triumph Fan Pack.
If you would like to show support for Coach Harkes's fundraising efforts, you can donate.
