Tristen Robins Signs Entry-Level Contract with San Jose Sharks

Tristen Robins is officially into the books of the San Jose Sharks.

On New Years Day, the Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson announced the signing of the speedy centerman to a standard, entry-level contract. As per team policy, the details of the contract were not disclosed.

"Tristen came off an impressive performance at the end of last season, scoring 16 points in the final nine games," Wilson stated in a press release. "His game has improved since he made the move to center, and his puck possession, pursuit and skating ability fit in our system of how we want to play moving forward. We are excited to have him a part of our organization."

Robins is coming off a highlight-laden campaign for the blue and gold, scoring a team-leading 33 goals and 73 points, while finishing 62 games with a plus-16 rating.

The 19-year-old finished tied for 11th in the league in goals. He was also third in scoring among 2020 WHL draft-eligible players, behind Seth Jarvis (13th overall) and Connor Zary (24th overall), who were both taken in the first round.

His impressive campaign, much of which coming in the second half, earned Robins a 2nd-round selection (56th overall) by San Jose in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Robins continues to live in the footsteps once taken by his father. Trevor Robins, a goaltender, suited up for the Blades for three seasons from 1989-1992, and was signed as an undrafted free agent with San Jose in 1993. He spent parts of two seasons with the team's International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate Kansas City Blades.
