
Trio Of Miracle Players To All-Star Game

Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
FORT MYERS, FL (June 2, 2011) Florida State League President Chuck Murphy announced today the rosters for the 2011 All-Star Game to played at Bright House Field, home of the Clearwater Threshers, on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 7:05p.m. The Fort Myers Miracle will be represented on the South team by catcher Danny Rams and infielder Brian Dozier. Pitcher Bruce Pugh was also selected, but was recently promoted to Double-A.
Dozier's selection to the league's 50th mid-season classic follows his spot on the 2010 Florida State League Post-season All-Star team. The Fulton, Mississippi native is hitting a team-high .320 with a home run and 18 RBI. A former eighth-round selection by the Minnesota Twins in 2009 is a career .303 in three professional seasons.
Rams has helped the Miracle remain near the top of the South Division standings with his bat. The Miami product was a second-round draft pick in 2007, and is hitting .278 with four home runs and 18 RBI. His four home runs are tied for the team lead.
Pugh notched nine saves in 16 appearances, before being promoted on May 29.
Twenty-two Miracle players have been selected in the last four years, including a record eight in 2009.
North All-Star Team members represent Brevard County, Clearwater, Daytona Beach, Dunedin, Lakeland, and Tampa. South All-Star Team members represent Bradenton, Charlotte, Fort Myers, Jupiter, Palm Beach, and St. Lucie. The All-Star Players, Coaches, and Umpires will be honored at events during the All-Star weekend.
