
Four Stone Crabs Named to FSL All-Star Team

The Florida State League announced the 2011Mid-Season All-Star rosters on Thursday. Four Charlotte Stone Crabs were among the players named to represent the FSL South Division. Infielders Hak-Ju Lee and Greg Sexton, outfielder Brett Nommensen and reliever Josh Satow all earned the honor for their fine contributions in the first half.
Lee, 20, has been among the best hitters in the FSL thus far. Beginning his season with a 14-game hitting streak, Lee blazed a trail straight to the top of the batting average leaders in the league. The speedy shortstop ranked third in the league with a .345 batting average and 14 stolen bases at the time the team was announced.
Sexton, 26, was named an FSL All-Star for the second time with Charlotte. The third baseman has been one of the premier run producers in the league, collecting 42 RBI's through the team's first 53 games. At the time of the announcement, Sexton was second on the club with a.307 batting average and 34 runs scored.
Nommensen, 24, becomes an All-Star for the first time in his three-year career in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Serving as the club's primary right fielder, Nommensen was hitting .287 with 27 RBI's and 27 runs scored in his 51 games played thus far. Nommensen has utilized hsi .407 on-base percentage to steal 13 bases in 15 attempts.
Satow, 25, earns his second trip to the FSL All-Star Game in as many seasons. The lefty reliever had appeared in 18 games, going 3-2 with four saves and a 1.85 ERA at the time the All-Star rosters were announced. Satow struck out three men in 1 1/3 innings of work to earn the victory in the 2010 FSL All-Star Game.
Additionally, Charlotte's field and training staffs will make the trip. Jim Morrison will manage the South Division squad, while hitting coach Joe Szekely and pitching coach Steve "Doc" Watson will join him on the field staff. Trainer Kris Russell along with strength and conditioning coach Eddie Young will also be on hand.
The 50th FSL All-Star Game will be played at Bright House Field, home of the Clearwater Threshers, on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 7:05 p.m.
