
Trio of Lancers Named to NHL Central Scouting Watch List

RALSTON, NE - The National Hockey League Central Scouting released its annual Preliminary Players to Watch List on Tuesday afternoon with Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson, Jake Henderson, and Zach Jordan all earning a spot, along with 51 other players in the United States Hockey League.
In addition, Jack Sadek and JC MacLean, two future players for the Lancers were recognized by NHL Central Scouting with C Rankings. Sadek, a defensemen for Lakeville North High School and a recruit to the University of Minnesota was a 2014 draft pick by Omaha in the USHL Phase II Draft. MacLean, currently a forward for the Austin Bruins in the North American Hockey League was a 2013 draft pick by the Lancers in the USHL Phase I Draft.
NHL Central Scouting grades the players during the preliminary list as either A, B, or C, depending on when they feel that certain player could potentially be drafted in June of 2015.
Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson earned a B ranking, indicating a second or third round draft pick. Zach Jordan and Jake Henderson each picked up C ranking, which could be a fourth through sixth round pick.
"We are very excited for these players to be recognized by NHL Central Scouting on their Preliminary Watch List," said Rick Comley Jr., the Director of Scouting for the Lancers. "On behalf of the Lancers staff we would like to congratulate not only the current, but also the future players on this honor. They are all very deserving and we are excited to watch their development continue this season."
Forsbacka-Karlsson came to the Lancers last season, recording 11 goals and 22 assists in 60 games played. Zach Jordan came to Omaha from the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League midway through the 2013-2014 season and in 25 games scored two goals and assisted on four others. Henderson, who is committed to Providence College for 2015-2016, scored four times and added ten assists in 51 games last year.
The Lancers kick off the regular season with the home opener this Friday night against the Sioux City Musketeers. Puck drops at 7:35PM, doors open at 6:35PM.
