Bloomington Thunder News Release

Bloomington, IL - The National Hockey League's Central Scouting Service pegged Bloomington Thunder goaltender Logan Halladay and defenseman Ethan Spaxman as players to watch during the 2014-15 season. The release that came Tuesday afternoon reveals players that have potential to be drafted in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

The two Thunder watches are part of a list that includes 52 other USHL prospects. Spaxman and Halladay both received preliminary grades of 'C', meaning they are viewed as late round NHL draft picks for 2015. The list also includes players from around the world representing a total of 43 different leagues.

Halladay finished the 2013-14 season with the Janesville Jets of the NAHL accumulating a record of 18-8-2, 2.26 GAA, and .932 SVPT. He also attended the Carolina Hurricane's Prospect Camp over the summer. The Cary, NC native has already committed to play at the University of Minnesota when he enters college.

Spaxman, the only Canadian born player rostered for the Thunder, ended 2013-14 with the Hill Academy. In 64 games played, the Brantford, ON native totaled eight goals and 15 assists from the blue line, while also earning a plus/minus rating of 30. Spaxman saw two games of USHL action last season with the Fargo Force and also committed to play at Merrimack College.

Join Logan Halladay and Ethan Spaxman as they, and the rest of the Bloomington Thunder, take on the Sioux Falls Stampede this Saturday, September 27th. The home opener begins at 7:00 pm at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum to kick off the Thunder's 2014-15 USHL season. For tickets, call the Thunder office at (309) 434-2980.
