Ottawa 67's News Release

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's will have three players competing in the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship in Espoo and Vantaa, Finland, from April 25 - May 5; with 2024 NHL draft-eligible defencemen Henry Mews and Frankie Marrelli suiting up for Canada, and 2025 draft-eligible forward Kimi Körbler representing Switzerland.

Mews, 18, led all 67's defencemen in scoring during the 2023-24 season. The Ottawa native tallied 61 points in 65 games on the back of 15 goals and 46 assists, also scoring two goals and three assists, for five points in 10 postseason games. He most recently represented Canada at the 2023 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, helping them to a gold medal with seven points in five games.

Marrelli, 18, scored nine goals and 16 assists, for 25 points in 60 games during his sophomore season with the 67's, adding a goal and two assists in 10 postseason contests. The Markham, Ontario product led his team with a plus/minus rating of 30, and returns to the international stage after posting three assists in Canada's five-game run to gold at last year's Hlinka-Gretzky Cup.

Körbler, 17, enjoyed a productive rookie season in the OHL, after being selected by Ottawa in the second round, 117th overall in the 2023 CHL Import Draft. A native of Davos, Körbler led 67's rookies in scoring, with 10 goals and nine assists, for 19 points in 60 games, adding another point in seven playoff matchups. He skated with Switzerland at last year's Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, recording an assist in four games.

Switzerland's schedule begins tomorrow at 8:00am ET, as Körbler and Co. take on Czechia. Mews and Marrelli get their tournament started at 12:00pm ET, when they face off with Sweden.

The 67's prospects will collide on Sunday, April 28, when Canada goes up against Switzerland at 12:00pm ET.
