
Trinity Armstrong Strikes Late to Secure San Diego Wave Victory against Bay FC

SAN DIEGO - San Diego Wave FC (4-2-1, 13 points) secured a 2-1 victory over Bay FC (2-2-3, 8 points) on Sunday night at Snapdragon Stadium. Defender Kennedy Wesley opened the scoring, and a dramatic stoppage-time winner from fellow center back Trinity Armstrong extended the Wave's unbeaten streak to three matches.
San Diego struck early for the third consecutive match, breaking through in the 5th minute. Midfielder María Sánchez delivered an inswinging corner that Wesley headed in to give the Wave a 1-0 lead.
Bay FC equalized in the 18th minute when Racheal Kundanjai slipped a pass to Karlie Lema just outside the box. The rookie took a touch to create space before slotting a low shot into the bottom right corner past goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan.
The match remained level deep into stoppage time before Armstrong delivered the game-winner in the 95th minute. Rising above the defense, the 17-year-old nodded in a corner from Kenza Dali to seal the victory, marking Armstrong's first professional goal.

Notes:
Rookie Trinity Armstrong earned the game-winning goal for the Club, her first professional goal.
Armstrong's goal marked the third latest goal in Club history.
Defender Kennedy Wesley scored her first goal of the 2025 season and second career NWSL regular season goal.
Wesley's goal marked Wave FC's 100th regular season goal since the Club's inaugural season in 2022.
Midfielder María Sánchez recorded her first assist of the season and the 14th of her NWSL career.
Midfielder Kenza Dali recorded her second assist on the season.
The Wave has 11 different goal scorers this season, the most of any team in the NWSL.
