Tri-City Storm Gets Point in 4-3 OT Loss at Sioux Falls

Sioux Falls, S.D. - Tri-City Storm forwards Paul Washe (1g, 1a) and Linus Weissbach (2a) each had two points, but Sioux Falls Stampede forward Eric MacAdams scored 39 seconds into overtime to secure a 4-3 victory Friday at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

MacAdams' second of the night beat goaltender Eric Dop to the left post. Tri-City held two leads, 2-0 and 3-2.

Tri-City defenseman Joseph Campolieto scored for the second straight game. Danny DiGrande flipped the go-ahead goal in with 12 minutes remaining in the third, but Jaxon Nelson struck back with 6:30 left to tie the game and force the extra session.

Dop finished with 29 saves. The Storm has earned a point in two of Dop's three starts. Mikhail Berdin took the win with 22 saves.

The Storm finishes its road trip tomorrow at Des Moines, its first match this season against the Buccaneers.

After allowing consecutive goals, DiGrande's third-period tally at 8:08 gave the Storm a 3-2 lead. Weissbach and Washe earned assists, cycling the puck at the left circle. With the puck centered, DiGrande collected and sniped his third of the season.

The Storm went on a two-minute power play at 5-on-3 with 9:48 left in the third. Despite holding the puck in the zone for the full two minutes, Sioux Falls killed off the penalty and held the Storm scoreless on five power-play chances.

Jaxon Nelson used the momentum to tie the contest with 6:26 left in the third. Eric MacAdams scored on the first shot of overtime, backhanding the puck in at the left post.

A pair of goals separated by 1:31 gave Tri-City an early edge. With 6:39 remaining in the opening frame, Campolieto lasered a shot from the left point past Berdin, assisted by Charlie Kelleher. Tri-City continued to roll lines and took a 2-0 lead; Washe found a loose puck at the right post and tapped it in, assisted by Linus Weissbach and Brian Hawkinson. Two of Washe's seven goals have come against Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls' Nolan Walker tallied on the power play with 1:54 left, snapping Tri-City's streak of 33 straight successful penalty kills. The streak started October 28 at Fargo and included seven consecutive games without allowing a power play marker.

Sioux Falls' MacAdams added his seventh of the season and tied the contest at two with 1:30 left in the second.

The Storm is at Des Moines to take on the Buccaneers on Saturday, November 26, at 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast on The Breeze 94.5 FM.

Tri-City returns home for a pair of home games on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3 against Waterloo. Friday's game is a 7:05 p.m. puck drop for First Responders Night, presented by New West Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, plus a $5 Kids Friday. Tri-City will honor local first responders throughout the night, paying tribute to the hard work and efforts of so many in the central Nebraska community.

Saturday, December 3 is Boy Scout Day, presented by Cabela's, and features a special 3:05 p.m. start time and one-game-only specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.
