
Tri-City Loses Close One to Hillsboro

Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils lost to the Hillsboro Hops 5-4 Wednesday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils (1-2 2nd Half, 23-18 Overall) never led in the game and fell short in their rally attempt in the 9th, scoring one run after being down 5-3 going into the inning against the Hops (2-1 2nd Half, 24-17 Overall).
Ty France had three hits and an RBI in the game, bringing his season batting average to .307 for the Dust Devils. Carlos Belen had a hit, an RBI and a stolen base. Mason Smith and Kodie Tidwell each had an RBI as well for Tri-City.
Alexis Olmeda had two hits for Hillsboro along with two RBIs. Fernery Ozuna, Zach Nehrir, Galli Cribbs Jr. and Luis Veras had two hits as well for the Hops.
Tri-City starting pitcher Walker Lockett pitched four innings. Lockett had four strikeouts while giving up three hits and one run in his outing for the Dust Devils. Griffin Russell (2-2) received the loss in relief for the Dust Devils. Russell pitched an inning and gave up three runs on two hits.
Starting pitcher Tyler Mark pitched three innings for Hillsboro. Mark gave up just one hit and walked one batter in his outing. Jefferson Mejia (4-3) got the win for the Hops, pitching two innings while striking out two batters and giving up two runs on four hits.
The Dust Devils and Hops will play the second game of their five game series tomorrow night at Gesa Stadium. It will be Dash for Cash Night thanks to Wildhorse Resort and Casino, where 20 fans will be selected to run onto the field and collect as much money as possible after the game.
