Hillsboro Hops News Release
TONIGHT: The defending Northwest League champion Hillsboro Hops seek their second straight win over Tri-City, coming off a 5-4 victory in the series opener last night in Pasco. Right-hander Tyler Bolton (0-2, 4.30) makes his ninth start for Hillsboro. Though he is seeking his first win, the Hops were 4-3 in his seven starts prior to clinching the South Division 1st-half title.
LAST NIGHT: The Hops held on to win 5-4 in the first of 10 regular season meetings between the NWL's two first-half champions. Galli Cribbs Jr., Alexis Olmeda, Zach Nehrir, Fernery Ozuna and Luis Veras all had two hits apiece.
TONIGHT'S RADIO PREGAME SHOW BEGINS AT 6:45 ON RIP CITY RADIO 620AM AND www.RipCityRadio.com. FORMER WSU HEAD BASEBALL COACH DONNIE MARBUT WILL BE MY GUEST ANALYST.
WELCOME BACK BRECKIN: Reliever Breckin Williams, Arizona's 4th-round draft choice out of the University of Missouri, worked the eighth inning last night, allowing one run on one hit. It was his first outing since 6/22; he has been out with an oblique strain.
GETTIN' IT OUT OF THE WAY: The Hops are getting done with the toughest trips of the year --- the four five-game road series against the North Division clubs. This series against Tri-City is the last of the four. Hillsboro is 8-8 on the road against the North with four games remaining at Tri-City.
