
Tri-City Downed by Force in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo Force (22-10-5) got ahead in the second period and never looked back, defeating the Tri-City Storm (15-17-4) 7-3 at Scheels Arena on Friday night.
Kyle Eastman, Brian Ward and Tim Lappin each scored goals for Tri-City in defeat.
The Storm got an early lead when Eastman scored the first goal of the game at 6:33 of the first frame. Assists on the goal went to Jason Cotton and Michael Vecchione.
But the Force got two consecutive goals from Brendan Harms and Dave Gust, and took a 2-1 lead.
Ward got a power play tally to tie the game later in the first, but Gust scored 16 seconds later and retook the lead for Fargo at the end of the period.
Lappin got the Storm back into the contest with his fourth goal of the season at 2:46 of the second on a rebound in front of the net. Dylan Maller picked up an assist on the goal to give himself a point-scoring streak of three games.
Gust completed the hat trick just four minutes later with a power play goal to give Fargo a 4-3 lead.
The Force controlled play for the remainder of the game and got goals from Dominic Toninato, Harms, and Kenny Gillespie to win by a final score of 7-3.
The teams will do battle once again Saturday night, completing a four-game series. The puck is scheduled to drop at Scheels Arena in Fargo at 7:05 p.m.
