The Indianapolis Indians coaching staff has announced the team's season award winners. Trevor Williams was selected as the team's 2016 Most Valuable Player, along with the presentation of five other awards, as the Tribe concluded its final homestand of the year.

Trevor Williams - Most Valuable Player Williams' season faced a setback nearly as soon as it began, suffering a right shoulder strain only nine pitches into his season debut. After missing nearly a month of action, he steadily fashioned himself into one of the International League's top hurlers. He leads the league in ERA (1.50) and is second in wins (7) since June 28.

He finished 9-6 with a 2.53 ERA on the year for Indianapolis.

"I would call this my best second half. There's a lot of different aspects that kind of go into this: it's changing my approach pitching, and it's changing my pitch selection, and it's also knowing that I'm one step away and knowing that it's not about how you start seasons, it's about how you finish seasons," said Williams.

"I didn't quite know how much time I was going to miss and how much time it would take to build up my arm strength back to where I could compete at Triple-A level, so that part was kind of a bummer. Other than that, I knew that I had to get back on the right foot once I was back and once I was healthy again. It took a few starts obviously, but once I kind of got on that right foot, then we kept rolling through the season."

Jose Osuna - Offensive Player of the Year Osuna arrived with the Indians on June 30 and quickly put his stamp on the International League. The OF/1B batted .296 with 31 RBIs in 59 total games for the Tribe. He is currently fifth in the IL with 25 XBH since his promotion, and the Indians are 6-0 in games he homers. Since his arrival he paced the club in batting average, RBIs, and slugging percentage.

Tyler Glasnow - Pitcher of the Year Glasnow entered the 2016 season ranked the Pirates' top prospect by Baseball America and did not disappoint. He went 8-3 with a 1.87 ERA in 20 starts for the Tribe this season - pitching well enough to earn his first MLB call-up on July 7. He logged a streak of 20.0 straight scoreless innings, fanned a team-best 11 batters twice, and led the IL in strikeouts and opponent average at the time of his big league promotion.

Willy Garcia - Defensive Player of the Year Garcia's impact for the Indians this season came largely from his play in right field. He logged 124 games in the outfield this year - most of any player in the International League. Garcia compiled a .970 fielding percentage in those games and tallied 17 outfield assists to lead the league. He now owns a whopping 53 OFAs since the start of the 2014 season to lead all of MiLB.

Frank Duncan - Rookie of the Year Beginning the year as a relief pitcher with Double-A Altoona, Duncan arrived in Indianapolis for the first time in May and brought stability to an ever-shifting rotation. He led all qualifying International League pitchers with a 1.48 ERA between June 9 and September 2. Duncan logged the IL's top scoreless streak of 23.2 innings - the second longest in any Triple-A league this season.

Trevor Williams - Team Player Award In addition to his MVP-worthy performance in the box scores, Williams was chosen as the Tribe's Team Player Award recipient by the coaching staff. This award is presented to the individual who makes an exceptional effort to put his teammates ahead of his own individual performance.
