Trevor Reckling named MWL Pitcher of the Week

August 4, 2008 - Kernels LHP Trevor Reckling has been named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending August 3. The Midwest League Office and Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) made the announcement Monday morning.
In one start last week, he had a 1-0 record. He allowed four hits, walked one and struck out nine over seven scoreless innings in a Kernels 11-2 home win over Fort Wayne on July 29.
Reckling is the fifth Kernel to earn Midwest League weekly honors. LHP Michael Anton was named the MWL Pitcher of the Week on May 12, OF Jeremy Moore was named the MWL Player of the Week on June 9, OF Tyler Johnson was named MWL Player of the Week on June 29 and RHP Esmerlin Jimenez was named MWL Pitcher of the Week on July 7.
The Kernels begin a four game series with the Quad Cities River Bandits on Tuesday at noon with the gates opening at 11 am.
