Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that the game on July 13 against New Hampshire will be "Bark in the Park" Night presented by Dogs & Cats Rule. The Terrace Sections at Waterfront Park will be reserved for fans who would like to bring their well behaved dog with them to the game.
All well-behaved dogs will be admitted into Waterfront Park provided their owner purchases a regularly priced ticket to one of the Terrace Sections. Season Ticket holders will be allowed to stay in their seats if they wish to bring their dog but the Thunder does have the right to change their seat if the dog causes trouble. Leashes are required on the dogs at all times and the Thunder reserve the right to remove a dog from the stadium if it is not well behaved. Also, a grass area will be roped off outside of the first base gates for dogs to do their business.
"We are thrilled to be hosting a fun event like this for the first time," said Thunder General Manager Brad Taylor. "We're happy to have a great partner like Dogs & Cats Rule helping to make July 13 such a special night," added Taylor.
In addition to allowing dogs into the stadium, there will be a "Canine Cash Scramble" on the field after the game. The Canine Cash Scramble will give one lucky fan and their dog the opportunity to go out on the field for a chance to win $10,000. The contest will involve the dog attempting to choose the "Lucky Ball" out of one hundred numbered tennis balls that will be spread out on the infield grass.
Fans interested in participating in the Canine Cash Scramble must go to Dogs and Cats Rule in Newtown, PA or Pennington, NJ to register for the event. No purchase is necessary to enter the contest. Registration for the event will begin April 5 and will end on July 6.
Another feature of Bark in the Park Night will be a Pet Products Display on the main concourse throughout the game. There will be displays from at least ten different dog product vendors for fans to browse.
The Thunder's Golden Retriever "Chase", has been delighting Trenton fans since 2003 with his bat fetching, between innings Frisbee catching and other regular duties during Thunder games.
Dogs and Cats Rule was opened in September 2001 in Newtown, PA and its second location was opened in June 2005 at the Hopewell Crossing Center in Pennington, NJ. Dogs & Cats Rule strives to ensure that our pets enjoy the most natural, safe and well-made products that are available. With this philosophy intact, Dogs & Cats Rule has evolved into the leader in this area and is on the cutting-edge when it comes to natural foods and pet supplies.
All Trenton Thunder tickets including season tickets, mini ticket packages and group outings for the 2007 season are on sale now by calling 609-394-3300 or online at www.trentonthunder.com.
