Round Rock Express News Release

Chris Tremie carried a lot on his shoulders as he came to the plate in the bottom the ninth. The Round Rock Express have lost more than their fair share of close games this year, including a 2-1 game only two days ago. After a wonderful nine-pitch battle, Tremie lifted a single to center and the Express' spirits to give Round Rock a 1-0 win over the San Antonio Missions. The win gives the Express a 5-4 road trip.

The ninth inning started when Michael Rosamond reached second on a throwing error by San Antonio's Jusin Leone. Chris Burke moved him to third on sacrifice bunt, on an 0-2 pitch. That brought up Tremie to face Tim Hamulack. Down 0-2, he fought off four foul balls and worked the count to 3-2 before a clean single to center.

The only downside was that D.J. Houlton did not get the win. Houlton matched his career high by going 7.2 innings and gave up no runs on only three hits. Eric Ireland (1-1) got the win after retiring the only batter he faced with a runner on second base.

Travis Wade got the final out of the game to record his third save.

Rett Johnson (4-2) was a hard luck loser in giving up the one unearned run in 8.1 innings.

The Express will be off Sunday before starting a 12-game homestand Monday against Midland.
