Macon Trax News Release

[MACON, Ga.] – The Macon Trax are proud to announce two "Scout Nights" in January. All Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Tiger Scouts and Boy Scouts will be invited and honored January 8 and 15 at the Trax home games.

All Scouts in Georgia will be offered very special ticket prices for these two home games. The Trax are excited to be able to honor the local scouting troops by featuring them during pre game activities as well as intermission games.

Scouting directors should call Heater Swartz at the Macon Trax office at 478-742-4TIX, extension 1 for further information. Ticket prices vary by location and size of scouting group attending the game.

"We are very happy to partner with the local scouting organizations for these two nights." said Director of Community Relations Tammy Brown, "The Trax take great pride in the work we do in the community and we know the Boys and Girls Scouts are also into civic pride, so we feel it is a natural partnership."

As a special incentive the Trax will honor one scout and one leader from the pack or troop that brings the most people to the two games. Prior to the January 15 game against Huntsville, a scout and leader will be honored by dropping the game's first puck from the most successful group.

Besides the action on the ice, the Trax promise to provide the best intermission entertainment in the entire Southeast. Fans coming to the game can not only watch some great hockey but also enjoy Gold's Gym sumo wrestling, Blade Uniforms human hamster races and games for cash prizes. This year Trax hockey is guaranteed to be "More Fun Than Makin' Whoopee."

The Trax will be at home this weekend to send out 2004 and ring in 2005. New Year's Eve the Columbus Cottonmouths will come to Macon for a 7:05 pm game against the Trax. The first two battles have seen each team goon the road and win on the other's ice.

On New Year's Day the Trax will also be on home ice against the Huntsville Havoc at 7:05 pm. All fans wearing Georgia Bulldog gear on New Year's Day will receive two dollars off their ticket. Regular priced tickets start as low as six dollars. Call the Trax at 478-742-4TIX to reserve your seat.
