Down Swinging: The Macon Trax have concluded play in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League President's Cup playoffs. The Trax lost their semifinal series to the Orlando Seals three games to none, with all the games being decided by one goal. Orlando won game one 3-2 in overtime; won game two 4-3; and won game three 1-0.
What Am I Bid? Fans can own a piece of Macon Trax hockey history by bidding on a Trax home game jersey. The team's white jerseys will be auctioned to the public March 24th at Locos Deli and Pub starting at 6 p.m. The jersey auction will take place in conjunction with the Trax Hockey Happy Hour. The Hockey Happy Hour can be heard via the internet through www.macontrax.com or www.IRN.FM.com
Rocket Rick: Defenseman Rick Emmett, who was the only defenseman to win the ACHL Player of the week award during the regular season, led all defensemen in playoff goals through the semifinals. Emmett had two goals in the playoffs, tying him for the league lead through the semifinals.
Picking Up Where He Left Off: Right winger Tommy Stewart, who led the ACHL in regular season scoring and was named the league's Most Valuable Player had four points on two goals and two assists to lead the playoffs in scoring through the semifinals.
Finals Line-up: By beating the Trax, Orlando moves on to the President's Cup final against the Knoxville Ice Bears, who eliminated Winston-Salem Parrots, 3-0. The finals will be in Orlando on March 26th and 28th, in Knoxville March 29th and 30th (if needed) and back in Orlando for game five on April 2 (if needed).
