Macon Trax News Release

[Macon, Ga.]—The Macon Trax have announced a working agreement with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL. The two teams will work together to further player development in minor professional hockey.

Head Coaches Tommy Stewart (Macon) and Stan Drulia (Augusta) are both expecting the marriage to work well for both teams. Both organizations are also excited to have the two teams within close proximity to be working together.

"This gives my players a solid option to further their hockey careers." said Stewart, "I have known Stan for a few years and I know he expects as much out of his players as I do mine."

Stewart also added the closeness of the two teams geographically will be a big help. He expects to attend the Lynx training camp and scout possible players for the Trax future. Drulia agrees that he may find some diamond's in the rough with this agreement.

"I know the Trax and their league have players that can play in the ECHL but have not been given the chance for whatever reason." said Drulia, "I will watch the Macon players closely, see a few games, and hope to give a player a chance to excel at the next level in hockey."

Unlike affiliation agreements, a working agreement does not guarantee a Trax player has to go to Augusta is requested. If Stewart and the player agree Macon is a better fit at that time, the Trax will not be required to send the player to the Lynx.

The Trax expect to inherit some players from the Lynx after the conclusion of training camp. Stewart feels he has a high caliber team in the works currently, but is always looking to improve his club.

Season tickets and corporate packages for the 2004-05 season are on sale now for as low as $99. To be a part of exciting Macon Trax hockey call the office at 478-742-4849.
